 Fad Diets - Why Are They Bad?

Daily we are hounded by marketers telling us about the new fad diet that triumphs all others. Drop pounds and inches with very little work. Deep down we know they aren't easy, but we naturally clamor for the quick fix ideal. Fad diets, why are they bad? Simply because they're temporary.

If you're a fat guy, you'll have the diet of a fat guy. Obviously, that is how you became fat in the first place. Most people really don't understand that. Can you lose weight with fad diets? Absolutely, but you'll end up putting it back on. The reason is simply that you end the diet. You meet your goal and go back to the fat guy diet.

Basically all you're doing is taking a vacation from being the fat guy.

People often tell me that they've found this new fad diet that "works". It probably does, but the question you should be asking yourself isn't whether it works, but can you sustain it into a lifestyle. If you want to be the skinny guy, you're going to have to eat like the skinny guy for the rest of your life. Most of these fad diets declare food as a bad thing. Could you seriously give up all those foods? Most people can't. Fad diets that have you just eating soup or lemons on the weekend cannot be sustained. Eventually you're going to have to eat again. Don't even take the time to invest doing it.

Here is the reality of the whole thing, if you want to lose weight you're going to have to find a diet you can do for the rest of your life. It's not that bad, but you need to find something that you can personally do for the long term.

I hate seeing people lose weight on these fad diets and in less than a year they've put it on, plus a little more. Fad diets are bad because you simply can't do them forever.
